Valentine Mount Instructions

Valentine One Mirror Mount Instructions:

Valentine 1 Mirror Mount: Mount your V1 directly to your mirror post bracket. Keeps your V1 concealed and in proper alignment for fore and aft unencumbered radar and laser detection. Painted black to match your V1, the Valentine 1 Mirror Mount makes the V1 harder to detect from the outside than the mounting bracket supplied with the V1. Your V1 can still be easily removed from the bracket. Requires the visor mount supplied with the V1.

NOTE: Bracket will not work with the 2001 electrocrmatic mirror option.

Installation Instructions:

The only item that is not supplied is the plastic part of the visor mount that you should have received with your V1 unit. Just remove the metal clip that is attached. View the pictures below to see how the V1 detector mounts in relation to the mirror. Make sure that the mirror is raised to its upper most position as shown.

Remove the factory screw that holds the mirror to the windshield metal plate. A variance we have encountered is the fact that several vendors were used for the metal plate on the windshield. That accounts for the shipping of two washers. Some installations require the screw only, some with one washer and some need both washers, (most installations require both washers.) Slide the V1 plastic "slide mount" that was meant for the sun visor onto the new bracket. It should be a snug fit. Then slide the V1 radar detector onto the "slide mount".

You can still use the day/night feature of the mirror by either tilting the mirror up enough to engage the lever or tilt the V1 unit down to activate the day/night lever. In the night position, the lever should not interfere with the sensing unit on the V1. We know it is a small inconvenience, but we felt that the tighter the V1 is mounted to the mirror, the better it looks and the day/night lever on the mirror rests on the top of the V1 to keep the V1 and mirror both from shaking at high speeds or on rough roads.

Valentine One Visor Mount Instructions

Valentine 1 Visor Mount: Mount your V1 directly to your windshield header. Keeps your V1 concealed and in proper alignment for fore and aft unencumbered radar and laser detection. Painted black to match your V1, the Valentine 1 Visor Mount makes the V1 harder to detect from the outside than the mounting bracket supplied with the V1. Your V1 can still be easily removed from the bracket. Requires the visor mount supplied with the V1.

NOTE: Depending on mirror adjustment, bracket MIGHT not work with the non-electrocrmatic mirror.

Installation Instructions:

The only item that is not supplied is the plastic part of the visor mount that you should have received with your V1 unit. Just remove the metal clip that is attached. View the pictures below to see how the V1 detector mounts in relation to the sun visor and the rear view mirror.

Remove the fastener that secures the snap clip for the passenger side sun visor. Use a ¼" nut driver or socket. Remove the clip from the windshield header and snap the new mount bracket with the curl down onto the clip. Line up the holes and "placement" pin and reassemble to the windshield header with the factory fastener.

Slide the V1 plastic "slide mount" that was meant for the sun visor onto the new bracket. It should be a snug fit. Then slide the V1 radar detector onto the "slide mount". Bend slightly to make the entire assembly level. Attach the supplied felt piece onto the top of the V1 radar detector where it comes in contact with the sun visor snap clip.
